Biography
Meredith Henderson
Meredith Henderson was born into a world of arts. Her grandparents had met in a play, fell in love and got married and the same had occurred with her own parents. Her father was a musician who had toured the Ontario region with various bands for years and her mother was an artist in many mediums before they settled down together to have a family.

Her parents had four children. Noah was the eldest, followed by Beth, Beki and the last of which was a brown haired, blue eyed little sprite they called Meredith. All of their children were quite precocious, having inherited the desire to explore the arts that their parents had within themselves, and luckily, their parents were not in the mood to stop them.

Meredith's mother Laura began a lunch time school program at various schools around the Aylmer/Ottawa area where they lived in Canada, including at Meredith's preschool. Whether it was to encourage artistic endeavor to the 5 year old or simply keep an eye on her is a matter to question, but this was Meredith's first experience of the acting art form and she loved it. The family continued to expand their theatrical and artistic endeavors. At the age of 7, Meredith and her sisters began singing with a local artist by the name of Dominic D'Arcy 'the Singing Policeman', who can be credited with discovering and fostering the now well-known Alanis Morissette who hailed from the Ottawa region. With him they performed at malls, charity events, senior citizen homes and telethons. They further expanded their endeavors by joining The Company of Musical Theater, a program created by the late and great Peter Evans, which put on amazing musical productions for the Ottawa community each year. Meredith and her siblings also joined an after-school program run by local woman Mary Mackay-Smith that put on a play at the end of each year. One year, an agent by the name of Gail Lawrence sat in the audience and, impressed by the four little dynamos, approached Mark and Laura about the possibility of their children pursuing acting on a more professional level. After discussing it with the kids, the family decided to jump on the opportunity and they all entered into the field of acting.

Living in Aylmer, Quebec at the time, it was quite a commitment for the family to pursue film and television careers. Auditions were normally held either in Montreal, which was a three hour drive away, or Toronto which was five hours away. But Mark and Laura were committed to giving their kids a chance at a career. But soon, only Beki and Meredith were left in that desire. Beth was studying ballet at the National Ballet School of Canada and Noah had decided that acting wasn't for him moving on to pursue music. And so they auditioned. Not very long after she began, in fact from one of her first auditions, Meredith landed the role of the young lead in a fantasy film titled "The Song Spinner". In that film she had the extreme honor of working with Patti Lupone, one of Broadway's true lights; the original Evita, as well as the late John Neville, one of Canada's treasured actors. The film was a true learning experience for her. Her first job at 10 years old and she was carrying nearly the entire film as well as dealing with constant illness. The day before her first day of shooting she got two ear infections and a fever and later during filming got a horrible case of the stomach flu. But these hurdles didn't stop her from doing her best nor did it lessen her growing love of the job. Meredith Henderson was officially hooked.

After that film she continued her career and only a year later landed her break out role as the self-titled lead in the long running Canadian children's show "The Adventures of Shirley Holmes". Through that she was seen on televisions in over 62 countries, was nominated for a Gemini Award twice and won once and was able to travel the world meeting her fans. From there she continued playing leads or recurring roles in television show's like "Mythquest", David Steinberg's "Big Sound", "Queer As Folk" and the "Best Years" as well as guest roles in shows like "Just Cause", "Puppets Who Kill" and more recently "The Dresden Files" and "Flashpoint".

In 2005 she was cast to play Shania Twain in the CBC biopic titled "Shania: A Life in Eight Albums" where she was able to revisit her own past in music as she recorded all the singing for the film herself.

Happy in the success she was finding in her career, Meredith, having lived in Vancouver for 5 years, moved to Toronto when she was 19. There around the age of 21, she was introduced to a friend of a friend; a writer/director named James Henderson. After laughing over the fact that they shared the same last name without being related and were both in the same industry, James offered Meredith an audition for his first feature film to be shot in Vancouver. She accepted and this led to a love affair that culminated in their marriage to one another on August 8th, 2008.

Around this time she had the great opportunity of playing a role in Andrew Dominik's film "The Assassination of Jesse James By The Coward Robert Fords" where she had the privilege of working with Casey Affleck and Roger Deakins. Unfortunately her role was cut out of the film but the experience was amazing nonetheless. Not long afterwards she worked with Hayden Christensen and Doug Liman in "Jumper".

Having always been fascinated and respectful of all aspects of the film industry, in her past Meredith had endeavored to explore more roles than just that of an actress. She had delved into set design, casting and writing at different periods of her life. With James and his production company Sisbro & Co. Inc., Meredith was able to finally explore one career that had always intrigued her; Producing. With her new partners (her husband and his sister Kristen Henderson), they produced together an experimental film titled "Shut Up and Deal" which was shot over a weekend for a budget of $7,500, completely improvised. From it they were able to put together a feature length film which they screened at the National Film Board of Canada. Not long after that success, James and Meredith decided that it was time to further their careers by taking the leap across the border. So they packed up their lives and drove to the states where they opened a Los Angeles branch of their company. Now living in Los Angeles, Meredith continues to pursue her career as an actress while also working with James at the Los Angeles branch of Sisbro.
